It is always safer to transport solids rather than liquids that can splash or dribble. ViraSorb Super Solidifier is available to healthcare facilities that may not have access to a hopper or prefer solidifying canister contents. Once gelled, the contents will not crystallize or become slippery and will remain solid throughout the disposal process to guard against spills or leaks. As ViraSorb is non-biodegradable, once canister contents are solidified, it will never revert back to a fluid state, qualifying it as a Solid Regulated Medical Waste according to the new 2003 Department of Transportation Packaging Requirements. Since ViraSorb is glutaraldehyde-free, chlorine free and phenol-free, it is non-toxic providing a means of red bag disposal of fluid waste that can be safely incinerated.
Healthcare workers appreciate that ViraSorb has no offensive odor and does not alter the weight or volume of the canister contents. ViraSorb solidifies infectious blood and body fluids by quickly penetrating the canister contents to gel ten times faster than other solidifiers on the market today without stirring or agitation.
Choose the best packaging for your facility from four sizes of single-use (pre-measured) bottles, two sizes of multi-use bottles with pour nozzles or convenient dissolvable pouches. The dissolvable pouches eliminate pre-measuring and can be easily pre-loaded in canisters before a procedure to create a closed system. And, ViraSorb does not cause fluid expansion. Just one dissolvable pouch can solidify up to 500cc of fluid. Several pouches can be used at once for larger canisters.
